WHO WE ARE

Cramahe Pride is a dedicated group of individuals committed to promoting and supporting LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and other diverse sexual orientations and gender identities) inclusivity, equality, and acceptance within our small town. Our committee works tirelessly to create a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all members of the LGBTQ+ community, their allies, and residents of Colborne, Castleton and all of Cramahe.

Our mission is to foster a sense of pride, understanding, and celebration of diversity in Cramahe Township. We strive to create a community that embraces and values all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we aim to promote inclusivity, fight discrimination, and raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues, ultimately creating a more inclusive, safe and equitable Township.

WHAT WE DO

But... how?

By using the following techniques, our group can achieve our main goal of fostering a more inclusive, safe and equitable township.

  1. Community Engagement: We organize and participate in various events, activities, and initiatives that bring together community members to celebrate diversity and promote LGBTQ+ inclusion. These may include pride parades, film screenings, guest speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and social gatherings.

  2. Education and Awareness: We conduct educational programs and workshops to increase understanding and awareness of LGBTQ+ identities, experiences, and issues. These initiatives are aimed at schools, local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to foster a more inclusive and respectful environment.

  3. Support and Resources: We provide a network of support, resources, and referrals for LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies in our town. This includes offering information on local LGBTQ+-friendly services, support groups, counseling, and healthcare providers.

  4. Advocacy: We advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and work towards policy changes at the local level that promote equality, non-discrimination, and inclusion. We collaborate with local government officials, organizations, and community leaders to ensure the protection of LGBTQ+ rights and representation.

  5. Outreach and Collaboration: We actively seek partnerships and collaborations with other local organizations, businesses, and initiatives to create a broader network of support and amplify our efforts. By working together, we can create a stronger and more united community that embraces diversity.
